My favorite of the nominations is Mahershala Ali in Moonlight, and Greenbook. It would be impossible for me to choose between these two amazing performances done by this one actor. Moonlight is about the three main moments of Chiron's life. It shows him growing up as a young black man, and his amazing journey to manhood. It is all about the community and people that lead him in the right direction. Greenbook is about Don Shirley who is a world class piano player, who is going to tour around the deep south in 1962.The movies shows the relation between Shirley and his driver, and the prejudice that Shirley has to indure traveling in a deeply racist part of the country at the time. Ali gave two amazing perforances, and was praised to no end. I could not think of a more deserving person to win these awards.
