- The bigget snub was Garth Davis for Lion, but Martin Scoursese was also snubbed for Silence.
- There were two big snubs them being Martin McDonagh for Three Billboards Outside Ebbington Missouri, and Steven Speilberg for The Post.
- There were two of the biggest snubs I have seen, Bradley Cooper for A Star is Born and Peter Farly for GreenBook.
- The snub that shocked the world was greta Gerwig, making all of the nominiees male directors.
- A minor snub was Aaron Sorkin for Trial of the Chicago Seven, but that movie was more of a screenplay acheivement.
My favorite of the nominations is Damien Chazelle. He won the oscar in 2017 for the movie La La Land. The movie is about Mia, a struggling actress and Sebastian, a jazz player. The movie shows there attempts at fame, and navigating there relationship. The main beauty of this movie is the directing. The movement, long takes, and genius that Chazelle brought to the movie was worth the oscar. When watching the movie you can see the quality of the directing, it truly shows you the importance of having a strong direction. The direction in "Someone in the Crowd" will keep you speechless.
